Terms
USDC: The stablecoin used for markets. 1 USDC = $1 USD.
Community: A group where markets are posted and discovered. Can be public or invite-only.
Pending: A market waiting for a 1 to 1 match of the initial trade. Markets must be matched before they become active.
Live: A matched market that is open for trading until close time. Users can place trades on either YES or NO.
Trading close time: The time when no further trades can be placed. Positions lock at this moment.
Resolution time: The time when the outcome is determined. This happens after trading has closed.
Canceled: A market outcome where users are refunded. Markets can be canceled for various reasons including no match, disputes, or policy violations.
Pari mutuel: A betting system where all bets are pooled together, and winners share the pool proportionally based on their contribution.
Credibility score: A user's reputation score that affects vote weighting in community resolution.
Embedded wallet: A non-custodial wallet created automatically when you sign up. You own and control the wallet.
Match: When someone places an opposite trade equal to the initial trade, activating a pending market.
Pool: The total amount of USDC bet on a side (YES pool or NO pool).
Position: Your stake in a market (YES or NO). You can have positions on both sides (hedging).
